Lesson-based debiting has been made available for general release, giving Envibe users more choice about how they want to charge customers for swim school lessons, gymnastics programs and other courses being run at their facilities.

The new debiting functionality gives users the option of charging course participants based on the number of lessons they will attend in their debiting cycle, rather than using Envibe’s standard day-based debiting to charge based on the number of days in a debiting cycle.

Another benefit of lesson-based debiting is it eliminates the administrative burden and hours required to bulk-credit participants retrospectively if classes are cancelled, as is the case with day-based debiting. This also improves the customer experience.

Jonas Leisure Head of Sales and Customer Success Dushayant Dhar says the lesson-based debiting functionality has already been successfully trialed by some Australian councils and is proving to be a hit.

“Those who trialed it commented that it provided a more accurate way of charging course participants. It can reduce administration for staff and course participants seem to enjoy it too because it reduces the back and forth of money if a lesson is cancelled or falls on a public holiday.”

Councils and other facility managers that want to implement lesson-based debiting at their facilities by emailing the Jonas Leisure support team or raising a support ticket using the Jonas Leisure customer support portal.

What other upgrades are in the works?

A range of exciting upgrades are planned for the rest of the year. One of the most anticipated is paperless in-house sign-ups, due out in Q4. Customers can already sign-up for a membership online using Envibe’s online customer portal, but the upcoming update aims to further streamline the process for customers signing up at the front desk.

Rather than filling out a paper form to provide membership details that staff have to input into the Envibe system when they have a free moment, the paperless sign-ups functionality will allow new members to register on their phone or using a tablet at the front desk.

“It’s one of many upgrades we hope to roll-out, all in the name of making Envibe more powerful and making life easier for staff and customers running or attending leisure centres and health clubs,” Dhar says.
